The Breaking Heart Symphony

Here’s the premier recording of the lost symphony I identified by the 19th century Philadelphia composer William Henry Fry by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.  You can purchase the CD here—I’m even mentioned in the liner notes!  Both the featured piece on the recording The Santa Claus Symphony and The Breaking Heart were played dozens of times by Louis-Antoine Jullien’s orchestra, which championed Fry’s music on its tour of America in 1853-1854.  Have a listen!  Enjoy! (P.S. Sorry ahead of time about the cheesy hearts!)
